MND NSW needs over $3 million every year to continue to provide services. Fifteen per cent of our income is recurrent funding from the NSW Government, meaning we rely on fundraising for nearly $2.5 million per annum.

Our key roles are to:

  • advocate for people with MND and for the MND community as a whole
  • provide support, information, education and resources about MND for families dealing with MND, as well as health, community and disability professionals.
  • provide short-term access to equipment for all people with MND in NSW and the ACT at no charge to the person living with MND or their family. During the past two and a half years, 5742 items of equipment have been provided. If people were to have bought each item of equipment, the cost would have been over $6.2 million
  • fund research - over $550,000 in the last 3 years

MND NSW Advisors travel across NSW and the ACT assisting people living with MND navigate the health, disability and community sectors, acting as a conduit drawing services in as needed

Our services are provided at no charge to the person with MND.
