On November 3, the MND Care Made Fair Gala Event will be held at Doltone House Jones Bay Wharf, to help raise essential funding for MND NSW.
Every day two Australians are diagnosed with motor neurone disease, which sadly has no cure, and will see them face immense personal challenges. They may lose the ability to walk, speak, breathe without assistance, or even lift their arms to give their loved ones a hug.
Their battle will see them require high levels of care and support, which is costly. Anyone facing MND aged 65 and over will not be eligible for NDIS assistance and must rely on the significantly inferior support of my aged care. Their care needs are beyond their financial reach, and some people facing MND will die waiting for their My Aged Care assistance package to be processed, or eventually be approved for one which no longer meets their rapidly-changing care needs.
We want to be able to provide fairer care but MND NSW only receives 15% of their funding from NSW government - we need your support to make this happen for people diagnosed with MND aged 65 and older.
The MND Care Made Fair Gala Event will be held in support of people living with MND and supported by MND NSW. The event features a sumptuous three-course luncheon preceded by canapes, plus a selection of beverages including fine wines, premium lager, sparkling water, barista-made coffees and fine handcrafted teas.
Live music and other entertainment will be showcased at the event, including performances by Gaetano Bonfante, Bernie Segedin and Katia van Hilten.
The MND Care Made Fair Gala Event will also incorporate a charity auction, raffle, and more.
Tickets: $200 pp, $2,000 per table of 10
