Government support for you
In this section you will find information about the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and My Aged Care (MAC).
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
MND NSW has many years of experience with the NDIS and we are able to offer advice and insight for people with MND accessing the scheme. Generally, we have found the NDIS has offered greater choice and higher levels of support and services for people with MND than have been available in the past.
However we have also found that our participants have benefited from speaking with their MND Advisor or the MND Info Line before their NDIS plan is developed. Your MND Advisor can talk to you about the best way to prepare for your NDIS planning meeting.
When your plan is developed, some services you currently receive or would like to receive from MND NSW must be included for you to receive those services. These include:
- Assistive Technology (Aids and Equipment) - equipment you currently have, or will require in the future, from the MND NSW FlexEquip Service
- Coordinator of Support - to assist you with coordinating the services and supports in your plan, from the MND NSW Coordination of Support Service.
Complete our online Get Support: Intake FormGet Support: Intake Form and your MND Advisor will support you to access the NDIS. Alternativley, visit the NDIS website for information about applying to access the NDIS.
