Ian and his wife Tracey are repeat Walkers, having come along to our Penrith, Port Macquarie, Hunter, Central Coast and our Virtual Walks previously, including with their daughter Rachel and grandson Greyson. They're now looking forward to coming along on Sunday to Walk to d'Feet MND Hunter 2023!
"It’s great to get involved and see the community spirit at the walks seeing people having a good time even though some are going through tough times," Tracey and Ian said.
"We enjoy getting out to support MND NSW and show we appreciate what the staff do and supporting the Hunter Walk, and all walks that we can attend is something we looked forward to."
When it comes to fundraising, they've received fantastic support from their community.
"We posted about the Walk on the Facebook page of our over 55s village, not expecting to raise any money. However Ian is out walking every day to keep his muscles working and receives so many comments on his determination not to give up," Tracey said.
The Gales feel the Walk is a great chance to catch up with others.
"It's a great community event, you meet others with MND, and family and friends," they said.
