walk to dfeet mnd fundraising event painted rock that says you should be here

We’re lacing up our best (walking) kicks and kicking off our Walk to d’Feet MND fundraisers for 2020, with our first event for the year being held in Canberra on Sunday 22nd March.

The first ever National Walk

This year we’re hosting nine walks all over NSW and the ACT, including the inaugural National Walk to d’Feet. In NSW, this national event will take place in the Illawarra on 3rd May 2020 starting MND week off with a bang.

‘All the MND associations from around the country have got together and organised to host a walk in each state on the same day,’ said MND NSW CEO, Graham Opie. ‘It will be the biggest walk ever held in Australia to raise awareness about the issues facing people with MND and their families.’

How to get involved

Walk to d’Feet MND is a chance for the community to get together and show support for people battling the challenges of MND. We’re asking everyone to gather family, friends, colleagues, and of course, pooches, regardless of age or fitness level and take a big step towards defeating this devastating disease. The funds raised will go toward providing essential equipment, services and support for people living with MND now, as well as assisting their loved ones. All walks are approximately 5km in distance and are wheelchair, stroller and dog friendly.

Why walk for MND NSW?

MND NSW is the only organisation in the ACT and NSW supporting people living with all types of MND, their families and carers. We advocate on behalf of people with MND, loan specialised equipment including electric wheelchairs, communication devices, electric beds and walking frames, provide education, workshops and seminars as well as raise funds for research.

If you would like to participate in one of our nine Walk to d’Feet events being held all over NSW and the ACT in 2020 register now.
