International Nurses Day is celebrated every year on May 12, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birthday - the visionary and founder of modern nursing.
This year the global campaign is Our Nurses. Our Future. A campaign to spotlight, acknowledge and commend the nursing workforce and the invaluable role they play in our health care system.
The International Council of Nurses established the day in 1974 and this year, calls for global investments in nursing. The campaign looks at how our health systems must be strengthened to address growing global health demands.
MND NSW promotes this year’s campaign in support of a future where nurses are protected, respected and valued.
