This year’s Walk to d’Feet MND was a little different but the thing we really loved about it was the way it allowed us to all Walk together. Our MND community is the best and we are so thankful that we were able to share this experience with so many people wherever they were (even across the world) and hear their stories throughout the day.

Stories like that of Hayley Mansfield and her mum Lee who has MND. Not only did their family Walk together, but all Lee’s neighbours also turned up to give her their support and raise awareness of MND.

For others, separated by boarder restrictions, it meant they could all walk together apart.

“It was an amazing day in both NSW and QLD. As my family and I couldn’t be together due to boarder restrictions we decided to take part in the virtual walk together,” said Elesha Mason from team K39. “We are so happy with the funds we have raised and will definitely be taking part again next year. Hopefully then we will all be together.”

There were so many stories like this that people shared over the day and we’ve posted all the photos that were sent to us on our Facebook page.

We’d also like to acknowledge the top fundraising teams, Shazza’s Squad, The Village Feet and Kim Team as well as the three top individual fundraisers, John White, Michelle Perkins and Kylie Wales.

Everyone who got involved put in such an amazing effort and so far we've raised over $63,000! We'll be leaving the fundraising pages up until December so anyone who hasn't had a chance to support the Walk yet has time to donate. And if you want to fundraise yourself you can still register and take on the Walk at a time that suits you!

One of the things we really loved about the Virtual Walk is the way it allowed us to all Walk together. Our MND community is the best and we are so thankful that we were able to share this experience with you wherever you were (even across the world in some cases) and hear your stories throughout the day.

This year’s event seems even more important to us because firstly, as our Walks are our biggest fundraisers and because of everything that’s gone down this year we’ve got a lot of time to make up for. Usually people get a lot more time to fundraise so as mentioned, we'll be leaving your fundraising pages open until December so we can work together and raise as much as we can to continue providing support for people with MND and their families.

A huge thank you to everyone who got involved and if you didn’t have the chance remember there is still time to take on your own Walk or donate to one of the incredible people who have.
