Online and phone support for carers is currently available via the Carer Gateway ph. 1800 422 737 or www.carergateway.gov.au. The Australian Government recently announced in person services for carers will commence from April 2020. In person services will include carer support planning, coaching, peer support, counselling, carer directed packages and emergency respite care. These services will be provided by regional delivery partners including Carers NSW. Researchers at the University of Canberra are looking to explore the connection between patient-caregiving relationships, chronic/complex illnesses and caregiver wellbeing. They are seeking adults who provide informal care for another adult with a chronic or complex health condition, including motor neurone disease. The study involves participants completing an online survey, which should only take 10 minutes of your time.
