Football team having a cricket test ashes match for fundraising

We want to say a huge thank you to Alstonville Football Club for hosting the Alstonville Ashes—a cricket test for a good cause!

After one of their club players was diagnosed with MND the club organised this amazing fundraiser for MND NSW. Having  taken place at the end of February, it was one of the last face to face events run for us and raised a whopping $2,982!

To give you an idea of how much this means to us, this money will go toward supporting people with MND and their families, helping us to advocate on their behalf, provide equipment including electric wheelchairs, communication devices, electric beds and walking frames to help keep people at home as well as providing education, workshops and seminars.

Club President, Peter Wiengarth said ‘I believe that the day was a success, filled with great fun, camaraderie, and emotion.’

If you’re looking for a way to get moving and fundraise for MND NSW during these crazy times, then stay tuned for the launch of our virtual challenge event, Australia Moves for MND.
