If you can't find the equipment you need in the FlexEquip standard range, check out the Miscellaneous Items category on the FlexEquip website—you might find exactly what you're looking for!

What is the Miscellaneous Items category?

The Miscellaneous Items category is an up-to-date list of non-standard equipment. The items in this category are different to the FlexEquip standard range.

Equipment items in the category may include:

  • Manual and electric wheelchairs.
  • Wheelchair attachments.
  • Hoists and slings.
  • Shower commodes.

Once an item has been hired it will no longer appear on the website.

Who can hire Miscellaneous Items from FlexEquip?

Equipment from this category is available to:

  • People diagnosed with MND over the age of 65.
  • A NDIS participant who has an approved FlexEquip Bundle in their NDIS plan.

How to access an item from Miscellaneous Items?

Just follow these three easy steps:

  1. Consult your Occupational Therapist (OT), Physiotherapist (PT), or Speech Pathologist (SP) to confirm the equipment is suitable for you.
  2. Your OT, PT, or SP submits a referral on the FlexEquip website.
  3. FlexEquip processes your request and sends the item.

How much does equipment from the Miscellaneous Items category cost to access?

For people over the age of 65 without a NDIS Plan, MND NSW covers the cost of hire, delivery and maintenance of all FlexEquip equipment, including those from the Miscellaneous Items category.

For NDIS participants with an approved FlexEquip Bundle in their plan, the NDIS covers the rental costs.
