Yes. iPads preloaded with all available communication apps can be provided to a health professional working with a FlexEquip participant for assessment purposes.
Who can hire iPads and communication apps from FlexEquip?
The rental of an iPad and communication app from FlexEquip is available to:
- A person diagnosed with MND over the age of 65.
- A NDIS participant who has approved assistive technology funding in their NDIS plan.
How to access an iPad with a communication app?
Just follow these three easy steps:
- Speak with your Speech Pathologist (SP) to ensure the equipment is suitable
- Your SP submits a referral on the FlexEquip website.
- Your SP provides a justification report explaining why the chosen app is most suitable
- FlexEquip processes your request and sends the item.
How much does an iPad and communication app cost to access?
- For people aged over 65 without an NDIS plan, MND NSW covers the cost of hire, delivery, and maintenance.
- For NDIS participants, the NDIS funds the hire of iPads and communication apps through approved assistive technology funding.
