As we approach the end of Pride Month, a month dedicated to the uplifting of LGBTQ voices, celebration of LGBTQ culture and the support of LGBTQ rights, MND NSW would like to share some resources that may be useful for our community members.

This week is National Palliative Care Week (NPCW) which aims to raise awareness and understanding of palliative care in Australian communities.

The theme of this year’s National Palliative Care Week (NPCW); ‘Palliative Care It’s your right’, reinforces that palliative care is a universal human right and that all Australians should have access to high-quality palliative care when and where they need it.

MiNDAUS is a partnership of Australian MND researchers, clinicians and organisations, which aims to develop a nationally co-ordinated and patient-centred approach to MND research, care and policy development.

Special occasions like Easter can tend to focus on enjoying and sharing food with family and friends. This can be a challenging time for someone with MND, who may have a modified diet or a PEG, and they may feel that they are missing out.

So, we have some suggestions for ways to make enjoyable treats for those with dysphagia so no one misses out on their Easter chocolate!
